Famous BABS The Walking Doll was originally created by Harry H. Coleman in 1917 and was manufactured for a few years.
This doll is about 27" tall. Composition head, shoulder plate and partial arms. Wooden upper arms and legs. Metal mesh body frame covered with s cardboard. Knee hinges are loaded with springs; her knee joints shut automatically when there is no pressure on the legs. Some rust is present to hinges.
One of the legs is stamped by a manufacturer- see photo.
Her composition head, shoulder plate and arms have multiple crazing, cracks. Unsure if wooden parts were repainted.
Wig is not glued to her head; most likely original.
Vintage/new outfit; no shoes.
Holes/stains might be present.
Stand is not included
